Ohio planted 4.9 million acres of soybeans in 2025—more than its 3.4 million acres of corn.
The Ohio soybean harvest covered 4.88 million acres and produced 258.64 million bushels in 2025. Those numbers make soybeans a substantial part of the state’s crop story. The campaign connects that familiar agricultural ingredient to tofu, without claiming that Ohio’s whole crop goes into food production.
The comparison uses USDA NASS planted, all-purpose acreage. Soybean yield is measured per harvested acre.

Soybeans serve many markets. Food-grade varieties and supply chains connect suitable beans to tofu makers. State crop totals do not tell us how much becomes tofu, and this campaign does not establish the origin of any particular product.
