Indiana planted slightly more acres of soybeans than corn in 2025: 5.45 million versus 5.4 million.
Soybeans have a substantial place in Indiana agriculture. The state’s 2025 harvest covered 5.43 million acres. Tofu offers a useful starting point for talking about the many destinations of the bean, while keeping food-grade production distinct from the much larger crop.
The acreage comparison uses USDA NASS planted, all-purpose acres for both crops in 2025.

Soybeans serve many markets. Food-grade varieties and supply chains connect suitable beans to tofu makers. State crop totals do not tell us how much becomes tofu, and this campaign does not establish the origin of any particular product.
